Back from another super amazing spectacular gig in Milano this time!! I'm getting used to those front row seats, not sure if I can go to regular gigs anymore Great setlist with some Frames songs including Fitzcarraldo!!!!! Best part (again) was Glenn solo time which included All The Way Down solo, the highlight of the gig for me!! We got a lil bit of With or Without You at the end of Falling Slowly too!!!!!

Setlist (from memory, no setlist this time, so might be well off):

1 This Low, loved it, started to appreciate it recently, so was glad it opened the gig
2 Feeling the Pull
3 Low Rising with Disco Intro
4 In these Arms, with talk about them being 'tourists' and going to have 4 coffees & toast at a café right beside the Duomo, and paying 125 euros
5 The Moon
6 If you Want Me
7 Fantasy Man
(Glen solo)
8 Say it to me Now, again unplugged & mic-less and sitting on a speaker at the edge of the stage right in front of me
9 All The Way Down, goosebumps!!!
10 Paper Cup, realy beautiful solo
11 Buzzin'Fly, with Marketa, ended unplugged & mic-less at the edge of the stage just in front of me
(band returns)
12 Colin solo song
13 I have loved you Wrong
14 Seven Day Mile, Frames cover Didn't know the song, so not THAt impressed sorri Glo :-)
15 The Rain
16 When your Mind's Made Up
----
17 Falling Slowly with a little bit of With or Without You in the end!!!!!!!! Said it was copied from the latest American Idol winner who did it like this...
18 into Lies, aborted after 30 secs cos Glenn was off (I think)
19 High Hopes
20 Ritter's Come Find Me
21 High Horses, introduced as the last song, Glenn urged us to stand up and dance!
22 impromptu Fitzcarraldo
23 Devil Town

I videotaped a bunch of stuff, will post later

Josh is great too... first he does 6 songs solo including Kathleen, Southern Pacific, Idaho,... and then he comes back at the end of the Swellies show to do Come Find Me with them doing backing vocals...

He's very approachable in the sense that he's running around the venue signing Cds, taking pics with people, thanking everyone

Holy blasphemy! how can you not love this song Marti? I'm jealous that you got to hear it live and that you've been to two swellies' gigs in the space of a weekend!

Thanks for the vids!!

Woo! Great stuff Marti - you both look adorable in that pic! That's the same dress she wore for the Radio City gig. I kept thinking she needed a crown on her head because all I saw was Princess Fiona:

(anyone watching Grey's Anatomy right now? In These Arms is being used - they're playing practically the whole song! It's lovely)

I saw them last night in Stockholm, and they never disappoint, do they? There were plenty of awesome sing-a-longs (and whistle-a-longs) and Glen dedicated What Happens When The Heart Just Stops to his friend Nicolai Dunger (who later made an appearance just like last time in Stockholm), and that just made my night, that I finally got to hear it and that it was such a perfect rendition of it.
They ended the show by playing Devil Town and the other guys in the band formed a little barbershop quartet, complete with fingersnaps and doo-woops and it was hilarious, and a perfect end to a perfect evening and I'm HAPPY!!

And about Josh.. I've listened to him for years, and love his records, but I've never seen him live.. Holy shíte I had no idea that boy could sing like that. He absolutely blew me away with his voice, and it didn't hurt that the acoustics of the church they were playing in were amazing!

some pics for you

and Josh, oh I love you dearly

Me too me too (I mean, am loving the Josh)

Saw them in Copenhagen tuesday night, great gig. Got the setlist, will post later.
Josh' opening set got standing ovations. Great audience, and Josh did great - he even said towards the end of his set 'this is going really well!'.

Marketa seemed a little sad somehow though? Made me feel really bad for her. She didn't really project herself (?) when she sang, she seemed oddly withheld - even more than usually. Was it the same in Sthlm?

No.. I don't think so. I didn't notice anything different. She sat out in the room watching Josh, smiling, and on stage she was her usual, rambly, wispy self. Hopefully just a bad night for her :/

^ Ah, good to hear
A friend saw them in Hamburg and had the same impression of her mood - maybe it was just a bad couple of days for her, who knows.

^I also got the impression that Marketa was a bit down during the Italian gigs, but they said she was a bit sick... I don't know but I feel like some of the chemistry between Glen & Marketa is (sadly) gone...

I agree, I noticed something off ever since the NPR Tiny Desk performance, see the kind of awkward moment at 0:35-0:45

They still sound great though.

^Nah, he'd never ditch Colm. So it will be "The Amazing Hansard and his Lovely Assistant, the enigmatic dr. Violin featuring an ever-changing rhythm section in dazzling red shirts", in other words "The Frames".
