what a show he and the band put on last night. they came on about 8.20 and left about 10.40 - 2.5hrs. strange to see opera hopuse missing a few seats down the front. Crowd reaction was fantastic, most people quiet through the whole show only a few phones going off at times. Damein was informed that he wasnt in Cork for 5 years, seemed surprised.
problable set list, not in order; Sand (damien solo) volvano/ me my yoke and I elephant blowers daughter I remember 9 crimes the professer rootless tree dogs coconut skins grey room "happy thoughts will save me" (vyvienne solo) woman like a man (+drum intro) ---- accidential babies ----- cheers darlin' (damien solo + snow) i'm sure I'm forgetting some.. and as an added bonus they were selling copies on Union Chapel CD so bought a physical copy of that. *edit* finished at 10.40 *edit2* me my koke and I sounds a bit odd

its on of vyvieene songs. she played a longer version of it 2 weeks ago.
the crowd sings that in the background the wohle way though. it in "'s couse not sure of exact title. Damien was singing solo with a backing track, drinking wine and pretending to smoke. In the chatter before the song he mentioned aobut being in dublin on that wet day, then it started to snow. And sure enoung at the last 30 secs of the song the props dept got to work and snow fell on the stage. He hooked up his collar on his jacket and walked off. That was the end of the show.

it was a great gig!
saw damien in edinburgh this year which was a magnificent show too but i think theres nothing like seeing him in the opera house at home! i am always in awe at the silence that damien commands when singing and its eerie to think that that many people are so enthralled that they just dont speak! damien dedicated coconut skins (my favourite) to his dad. his dad was in the audience and it was his birthday. so happy bday mr rice. thanks for producing such a wonderful specimen i was seated in the front row of the balcony with my fiance and i spied a guy at the front of the stage wearing the same tshirt as me (brown tshirt with the heffa elephant on the front) and i thought to myself.... that HAS to be an eskimo! cmon own up - who was it???? ps - im getting married in 3 wks and was feeling a bit stressed out over the last few wks. after last night im mellow yellow again!!!
