Thanks. I'm hesitating to buy tickets, though...
I kinda dislike festivals, because the sound is usually poor, and I don't like gigantic crowds that much. I'm hoping that he'll add another European date in a smaller venue... Like the gig he did in Oslo last year. It's bit of a gamble... I'll keep my fingers crossed. |

I know... I considered blue balls as well, so when I noticed it was sold out, i panicked and booked my tickets for best kept secret festival.
If a better date suddenly should appear, I'll just go to both gigs Tickets for BKS festival are still available on heir website. Maybe he's just too busy working on that new album, to add more gigs... Once it is released, he'll have to do a complete tour, right? I certainly hope so |

Less than a week to go! I'm getting a bit nervous... Strange.
Anyone from the Netherlands on this forum? I was just wondering... Is the festival covered by a tv or radio station? |

Oh, and you can watch part of the set here:
http://3voor12.vpro.nl/luisterpaal/p....26962067.html Sorry, that is the complete set! And I didn't even have to bother filming it I was standing in front row, very near to the center. I feel soooo lucky. Can't wait until August. Need some sleep now... Last edited by carrroline; 06-23-2013 at 03:00 AM. |

That setlist doesn't contain much news, it looks pretty much like the setlists of 2003. Argh, I hope he really has new stuff coming up!

No aftershow as far as I know, but apparently he walked into the audience after the show. Didn't see him though... |

That's one explanation. But seriously, the only two new songs that he plays regularly are The Box and The Greatest Bastard. And he's been playing those for over two years now...

and I think he has learnt a lot from 9, where all the songs had been previously played before the release and everyone knew them already. I think now he is trying to avoid the "it was better live" reaction, keeping most of the songs secret until the release. |

Last year he used to play The Greatest Bastard only during the aftershows, in front of audiences of 20-30 people. I don't think that it can be considered as "played regularly", he has always tried to keep it secret. He has played it during the Icelandic Sessions in 2008 but that's not enough to say he's been playing TGB regularly for the latest 5 years... The only song he's been playing regularly at proper gigs is The Box.
I think he's just slowly introducing them. First The Box, then, one or two years later, The Greatest Bastard... then maybe another new song in a few months, etc... but I can see the new album coming out with only a very few songs known... |
